I know this isn’t Highland Games so if this isn’t appropriate, please delete it.

Some of you have expressed an interest in Grip Strength from time to time.  David Horne, a fellow from England has come up with a neat concept called World’s Strongest Hands.  Held at 9 venues around the world and all held on the same day – they will then be scored as if it was all under one roof like any normal event.  It is a series of four with prizes for each day and then at the end for an overall.  There is a men’s and woman’s class.  I would like to invite all of you down for the one being held at my house August 14 (and all the others of course).  And if your wife is the one who opens all the jars at your house – bring her along as well.

World’s Strongest Hands
230 Burley St
Crooksville, Ohio 43731
August 14, 2010
Starts at 11 AM
Cost is $15 or $37 gets you into all 4 events
Events:
Euro Pinch – imagine 2 45# plates smooth side out with a pipe through the middle – add weight, pinch and lift.
Wrist developer – a test of wrist and arm strength
Vulcan Gripper – just a gripper – you squeeze it till the handles touch

http://www.davidhorne-gripmaster.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=444      Here’s a video showing the events – equipment etc.

After the contest we can play with some things you may never have tried before like the Hand and Thigh lift etc.

It is appropriate because many guys like to change it up and the grip is a big part of throwing. I just moved it here.
